Are you looking to learn how to crochet? We know someone who might be able to help! Meet Darva Williams, RN, BSN, improvement and peer review coordinator for UofL Health – Quality at UofL Health – Jewish Hospital.
Darva began her UofL Health story 20 years ago. Before working in Quality, she worked in the Cath Lab and as a STEMI coordinator, coming into her current role a little over a year ago.
“The people who work here are so amazing, knowledgeable, and caring!” Darva explained.
A major portion of Darva’s role is to collect abstract data for NCDR chest pain/MI registry, PCI registry and CARES registry. Based on this collected data, she also helps develop performance improvement plans. This helps improve patient care and documentation.
She helps live out UofL Health’s mission every day by helping improve the medical treatment for all patients experiencing chest pain.
Darva would love to see UofL Health – Heart Hospital become one of the best in the region.
One thing you may not know about Darva is that she was born in New Mexico but has lived in Kentucky most of her life. She attended Ballard High School, here in Louisville, and then Eastern Kentucky University.
Her hobbies and interests include reading, gardening and crocheting. She is currently reading and recommends The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes.
At breakfast time her favorite meal is bacon, eggs and blueberry waffles. But if she could only eat one meal for the rest of her life it would be anything Italian.
Darva is a big music fan. However if she was forced to pick a favorite, it would be “Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay” by Otis Redding.
If you see Darva out and about, be sure to say “hello” and ask her about her favorite books or her latest crochet work. She would love to get to know you!
