Chris Cook has been with UofL Health for eight years, managing imaging and cardiopulmonary services. Chris’s role includes leading the team responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging exams and procedures. He does staff scheduling, service recovery, payroll, charge entry, employee and physician rounding plus much more.
“The main reason I love UofL Health so much is because I believe we value all the right things that make up a great hospital organization,” Chris said. “We are not for-profit, and we are going to care for you no matter who you are or where you are from. We embrace change, we care about our employees and we recognize high-performing individuals for their dedication. We promote continuing education, diversity, research efforts and team atmospheres. In my own space at UofL Health, I just feel like another member of the family and that is why I’ve been here for so long. I have always felt like I was part of the solution and a player in our outcomes no matter what position I have held with UofL Health.”
His goal is for UofL Health to become the health care organization of choice across the Louisville area. Chris is passionate about his job and about what UofL Health does in the world of radiology, whether it is related to education, quality or raising general awareness of the field.
Chris graduated from Kings’ Daughters Hospital (KDH) radiology school in Madison Ind. in 2012, and later earned his bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University in 2019. He is currently reading “Dave’s Subs,” a novel about workplace accountability by David Marx. His go-to karaoke song is “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)” by Big and Rich.
Chris lives by this inspirational quote by Chris M. Candless: “Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far they can go.”
