Madelyn Hunt, RN, BSN, has been with UofL Health since 2009. She is a living donor coordinator at UofL Health – Trager Transplant Center. She began her career with UofL Health as a bedside nurse on the transplant unit. She stayed there for seven years until she was transferred to the Transplant Center as a living donor coordinator.
Madelyn works with providers and other multidisciplinary team members to provide ongoing care to patients before and after living kidney donation. She is also in charge of new referrals, providing patient education, and coordinating the evaluations of potential living kidney donors.
Madelyn’s favorite part about working at UofL Health is working with her transplant team.
“We have passionate providers and a strong team of staff that always remain focused on our patients,” Madelyn explained.
Madelyn was born and raised in southern Indiana; she attended Floyd Central High School. After graduating she went to Ivy Tech and then went to Indiana University Southeast where she got her bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Madelyn absolutely loves sushi. She and her husband like to spend their date nights at different sushi places in southern Indiana. She believes that she could live off it for the rest of her life.
She is incredibly busy outside of work with her family. She has two sons and two stepdaughters.
