Do you know how to play the harp? We know someone who would love to learn! Meet Jessica Brinkmann, PT, DPT.
Jessica has been with UofL Health – Frazier Rehabilitation Institute at UofL Health – Chestnut Street Outpatient Center for one year as an outpatient physical therapist. As a physical therapist, Jessica helps patients regain independence in their lives. She treats a variety of conditions including orthopedic, neurologic and pelvic floor dysfunctions.
Jessica creates long-term relationships with all the patients she works with, getting to know them on a more personal level.
Her favorite thing about UofL Health is the people.
“I have worked with the most compassionate and driven rehab specialists,” Jessica said. “Not only are they dedicated to their patients, but they also have fostered a fantastic team atmosphere.”
Jessica’s goal for UofL Health is for the organization to continue to expand its capacity of providing high-quality care to all members of our community and gain recognition on a national level.
Our mission is an important part of Jessica’s work and aligns directly with her care model.
“Providing compassionate care is my top priority,” Jessica explained. “I understand that being the patient in a patient-provider relationship can feel very vulnerable, so I strive to build a relationship of trust to bridge that gap.”
Jessica is from Georgetown, Ky., but has lived in Louisville for the last nine years. She attended Bellarmine University where she obtained a degree in exercise science. Then, she received her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky.
If she could eat any meal for the rest of her life it would be any form of potato. If you ask Jessica, potatoes are the most versatile and universally delicious food on Earth.
If she’s not watching the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon or the new Lore of the Rings prequel series Rings of Power, she’s probably reading the classic novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin.
Jessica’s goal is to visit all seven continents. So far, she has only visited North America and Australia.
Some of Jessica’s hobbies include cooking, second-hand shopping at antique malls and gardening.
Jessica would love to learn how to do anything artistic: crocheting, painting, woodworking or playing an instrument. According to Jessica, being creative is a great way to relax, but she wasn’t born with an artistic bone in her body. Stick figures are about her limit.
If you see Jessica out and about, be sure to say “hello” and ask if she’s team Alicent or team Rhaenyra or share your favorite artistic hobby.
