John Fortune, CPA, MBA, is the director of Internal Audit, which is part of Compliance, Risk & Audit Services.
John has five years of experience at UofL Health. His role includes working with process owners to ensure that policies, procedures, and other internal controls are designed and operating effectively. The Internal Audit team is focused on cultivating an efficient and effective control environment allowing us to spend more time on compassionate, innovative, patient-centered care.
John would like to see UofL Health become a world-class provider that offers a highly prestigious learning space for future doctors. John appreciates transparent communication, as his favorite thing about UofL Health is that everyone he works with is trusting and willing to share their thoughts on opportunities for improvement.
John enjoys spending evenings with family and friends, singing karaoke and enjoying home-cooked food and hand-crafted beverages. He enjoys music of all kinds, especially 80s, indie rock, classic rock and jazz. John also likes listening to trivia podcasts like “Trivia Time,” “Trivial Warfare,” “Triviality,” “You Must Remember This” and many more.
John spends most of his free time hosting and writing for trivia events. He is currently reading “G-Man” by Beverly Gage, which is a biography of J. Edgar Hoover. This book and others serve as great resources for John’s trivia question writing.
