Clinical Trials Day 2025 honors the power and purpose of all clinical research professionals, providing an opportunity to reflect and recognize all that has been accomplished thanks to clinical trials and the people behind them.
In support of our Core Value of Education and Research to further educate and help develop the skills of our staff by facilitation an academic, research-driven approach to patient care, as an academic medical center, we have a growing emphasis on clinical trials and research at UofL Health. There is a very special team that is not only helpful, but necessary in keeping patients and departments grounded throughout the research process.
The UofL Outpatient Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) includes clinical research nurses and coordinators, regulatory specialists, and financial coordinators, led by the clinical research director who are all dedicated to supporting clinical research and advancing the practice of medicine at UofL Health.
Each member of the CTU team comes from different pathways, using their own skills and experiences to provide collaborative care and support the conduct of meaningful research. The team assists with the growth of clinical research within UofL Health’s system and the community and does not waver in their mission of bringing innovative research studies to the community through skilled professional services, training and education.
Through each and every phase, the team supports our physician investigators and guides departments and clinical trial participants through the clinical research process, providing patients with the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research and treatment options that has the potential to make a difference in not only their own lives, but also the lives of others.
The Clinical Trials Unit research clinic in our Chestnut Street Outpatient Center is a dedicated, state-of-the-art space complete with exam rooms, lab collection and processing area, a temperature-controlled drug room for ambient and refrigerated investigative product, and an infusion area.
Clinical trials at UofL Health span areas such as Cardiovascular, Neurology, GI/Motility, Liver, Endocrinology, Ophthalmology, Neurosurgery, Women’s Health, Orthopedic, Surgery, Oncology, Pulmonology and more.
Thank you to the UofL CTU for all of your hard work! We hope you feel appreciated as we celebrate your team on Clinical Trials Day 2025.
