The National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) has certified the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at UofL Hospital as a Level 4 center, Its highest designation.
The accreditation recognized centers based on their expertise and capacity to provide specific services. NAEC supports epilepsy centers in delivering quality care by setting standard of care, and advocating for access to higher quality epilepsy centers.
Level 4 accredited comprehensive center means that we are a specialized epilepsy center that provides more complex forms of intensive neurodiagnostic monitoring, as well as more extensive medical, neuropschological and psychosocial treatment. We support our patients by providing individual care plans with seizures or epilepsy, and by providing comprehensive diagnostic and treatment service that other facilities cannot support. This includes intracranial electrodes and a broad range of surgical procedures for epilepsy (WADA’S, FMRI’s, PET scans).”
