- I would like to give a tremendous appreciative round of applause and gratitude to all our wonderful House Managers at UofL Hospital! They have done an incredible job in difficult and changing circumstances. They have guided and assisted every hospital employee that seeks them out and have advocated and supported the floor staff to the best of their abilities. Without them, we would not function, plain and simple. This doesn’t just apply to our current situation but always. Thank you.
- Thank you to ALL the staff working tirelessly at the UofL Hospital. Thank you to our Environmental team, Engineering, Dietary, Cafeteria, Front Desk and Security. Without every single one of you, everything we do for our patients would not be possible. Thank you for every single day that you come in here and do all that you do.
- I wanted to give a shoutout to Mark Spivak! Mark and I were walking to the parking lot and heard someone yelling from their car that they needed help. He quickly ran over to the car and helped an unresponsive young man that overdosed. He got the patient to JH ED and assisted in saving this man’s life. Mark’s quick actions were truly heroic.
- I would love to give a huge shout out to Sarah Riggs, medical oncology nursing manager of infusion and clinics at the UofL Health – Brown Cancer Center. Sarah has such a big heart and continues to go above and beyond for the patients and staff every day. You will often find her helping patients navigate their way through the halls. Sarah comes in early and leaves late most days, even knowing she has her own family at home to care for. You will find her every single morning at our screening station helping direct the staff with the new patient flow during the current pandemic. You will never catch her without a smile on her face, despite the difficult times we are facing. Sarah chooses to see everything in a positive light and will help anyone in need. Thank you, Sarah, for all that you do for our patients here at the BCC. We truly appreciate your hard work and dedication!

- I would like to give a shout out to Rebecca Jent. She is helping lead the Covid-19 testing sites. She is like a mom to all of us here. She is a listening ear when we need it. She gives us a shoulder to cry on and is our number 1 cheerleader. Thank you Rebecca for everything you do!!! You are the best leader we could ask for!! We Love you
- Jeff Graves, Carrie Malone RN, and Tina Morrison are the Mary & Elizabeth OR Covid Call Team. They stepped up to cover surgical cases in the OR for patients suspected of or having positive COVID-19 results. The process reduces the number of staff members exposed during intubation and extubation. We really appreciate our COVID-19 Call Team’s initiative to be available 24/7 in providing consistent, patient-centered care. They are passionate about our mission to provide the best care our patients deserve. Thank you, Dr. Graves, Carrie and Tina!
- Our PPT department at MCE would like to give a huge Shout Out to our secretary Christina Nelson. She has jumped in and taken on many roles to help us in scheduling and tracking our patients for covid testing prior to surgery. She keeps an eye out for any add-on patients and is calling ahead to schedule their testing. The nurses here would be lost without her!!! Thank you, Christina!
- I would like to give a shout out to Laura Argetsinger, DPT and Supervisor with Pediatric NeuroRecovery Clinic at Frazier Rehab. Laura has done a tremendous job in organizing the return of children to the NeuroRecovery Clinic. She has found extremely creative ways to make sure both children and families are prepared for the changes they will see in the clinic. Each family will receive a ‘Welcome back’ video to orient them to the new process, and she even created a way to inform families via text from email with a picture informing them that the therapy room is ready for them. Laura has responded to the challenges of coronavirus in an exceptional and professional manner, using the best knowledge available to ready us to re-open the clinic preparing the children, families, and staff!

- I would like to thank Emily Flowers and Megan Wade Nurse Practitioners at UofL Health Peace for all of their help in our building during this very hard time they’ve gone above what’s asked of them and always put the patients first. Thank you both so much!!
- I would like to recognize a hard-working, dedicated coworker Jody Revels. She put together a great teaching moment concerning Prone Positioning. She is a dedicated educator in our department here at Mary & Elizabeth. When called to floors to work & assist with patients she jumps into her nurse mode & goes to the floor & works very hard to assist nurses with patients in ICU. She is a book of knowledge for sure. We appreciate all her hard work, dedication & inspiring moments to learn from her.
