UofL Health is a sponsor of the Brain Injury Alliance of Kentucky. This organization hosts a yearly Brain Injury Summit for providers, nurses and medical staff (with CEUs offered) to learn about innovations for improving outcomes after brain injury. This year’s virtual summit will be held in a series of sessions from 3-5:30 p.m., April 7, 14 and 21.
After attending this summit, attendees will be able to:
- Discuss advancements in acute treatment of brain injury in Level 1 trauma centers
- List the possible resources for community and caregiver support after brain injury
- Summarize and evaluate the most common changes and social-emotional responses that survivors and families experience after brain injury
- Explain Toxic Metabolic Encephalopathy, its symptoms, diagnosis and treatment
