UofL Health – Peace Hospital is pleased to announce Keith Rankin, MSN, RN, NE-BC, as its new chief executive officer (CEO), effective Monday, May 19, 2025. Keith comes to UofL Health with outstanding knowledge and experience, having worked in inpatient psychiatric hospitals in Kentucky for more than 20 years. At Peace Hospital, he will report to Melisa Adkins, EJD, MBA, BSN, RN, chief executive officer at UofL Health – Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
Most recently, Keith served as the CEO of The Ridge Behavioral Health System based in Lexington, Kentucky. Prior to that, he was chief nursing officer (CNO) of The Brook Dupont in Louisville and CNO/chief operating officer of SUN Behavioral Health in Erlanger, Kentucky. In all his roles, Keith has built a reputation for stabilizing clinical programs and making a strong impact on programming, patients and employees.
Coming full circle in his profession, Keith started his career at Peace Hospital as a mental health tech in 2002 and at the time of his departure in 2019, he served as director of nursing.
Keith holds a master of science degree in nursing administration and a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is also a Board-Certified Nurse Executive with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Keith brings a dynamic blend of operational expertise, cultural revitalization and a relentless focus on patient-centered care that will propel the mission of UofL Health forward. He is highly regarded in the behavioral health community and has a deep understanding of the health care delivery system in the commonwealth of Kentucky.
